This section outlines the framework under which we process your information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)
We will obtain your express consent for the collection, use, or disclosure of your personal information for identified purposes. In instances where express consent is impractical, we may rely on implied consent, provided it's demonstrably reasonable to do so. You retain the right to withdraw consent at any time upon written notification.
PIPEDA allows for the processing of your information in specific circumstances without your consent, including but not limited to:
- Where collection is demonstrably in an individual's best interests and obtaining consent is impracticable,
- To facilitate business transactions, subject to prescribed conditions,
- Where we have reasonable grounds to believe an individual is being subjected to financial abuse,
- For investigations and the prevention of fraud,
- When disclosure is compelled by a subpoena, warrant, court order, or production of records order,
- To identify injured, ill, or deceased individuals and facilitate communication with next of kin,
- Where the information is contained in a witness statement required to assess, process, or settle an insurance claim,
- Where the information is publicly available as defined by the regulations,
- Where obtaining consent would compromise the availability or accuracy of the information, and collection is necessary to investigate a breach of agreement or a violation of Canadian law,
- For journalistic, artistic, or literary purposes,
- Where the information was created, collected, or compiled by an individual in the course of their employment, business, or profession, and the collection is consistent with the purposes for which the information was produced.
We are committed to upholding your privacy rights under PIPEDA. Should you have any inquiries or wish to withdraw your consent, please contact us through the methods outlined in this policy.
